About Us
Welcome to St. John's
All are welcome to gather for worship, faith formation, community, and outreach. St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church has been an active presence in the West Seattle community since it was first gathered in 1892. We are a congregation of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Olympia and part of the world wide Anglican communion of churches.
The congregation meets at 3050 California Avenue SW, at SW Hanford Street, right next to West Seattle High School. The main entrances to the building are fully accessible to all persons, and the facility is equipped with an elevator. There is plenty of Sunday morning parking in the high school lot next door.
Access by Bus: # 55 and # 128 stop in front of the church.
Access by car: 3050 California Ave SW at SW Hanford St in West Seattle.
From Interstate-5 or Highway 99 (the Viaduct) take the West Seattle Bridge exit.
Keep right and take the SW Admiral Way exit. You will need the left lane.
Follow Admiral Way up the hill and around to California Ave SW (3rd of three stop lights).
Turn left and drive 2 1/2 blocks south on California Ave SW (after two stop lights).
St. John's is on the left, just past West Seattle High School and McDonald's.
From southern points in West Seattle, drive north on California Ave SW.
St. John's is on the right, just north of SW Hanford St, in the Admiral district.
