About Holy Week and Easter
Come! You are welcome. There is a place for all people at God's table. Come, walk the journey of this sacred time. Children are welcome at all services. Our space is fully accessible to all people.

This is the week to learn about Christian faith as we experience it in the Episcopal Church. As Christians in the Anglican tradtion we say that "praying shapes believing." The worship in these days provides an open place to come as you are and encounter the love of God through ancient traditions presented for twenty-first century believers and seekers.

Palm Sunday
The drama of the last week begins with hosannas, a procession of palms, and Eucharist (Holy Communion). We listen to the passion story according to Mark (2011) and follow Jesus to the cross.

On
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we gather in the Prayer Room to celebrate Eucharist and remember Jesus' last days.

Maundy Thursday
The name for this day comes from the Latin "mandatum," meaning commandment. Jesus said to his disciples at that last meal, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another." We remember the upper room where Jesus washed feet, broke the bread and blessed the cup, and taught his disciples. After sharing Eucharist and a simple meal we remember Jesus' prayer in the garden, his arrest and abandonment. The church is open late into the evening for prayer, meditation, spiritual direction, and reconciliation (confession).

Good Friday
On this day our children lead us in the Way of the Cross as we remember the cross of Jesus. All present have the opportunity, if they wish, to take part leading prayers, reading Scripture, and carrying a wooden cross. Later in the evening we gather to hear John's passion story, keep silences, and sing and pray at the cross.

Holy Saturday
At noon we share a quiet time of prayer, psalms, Scripture reading, and a hymn we recall the time Jesus' body lay lifeless in the tomb.

Easter Day
Easter begins with an early morning service of light, lessons, baptism, and Easter Eucharist. Joyful worship and music continues at the second Eucharist of the day. At each morning service children help lead the congregation in the joyful words, "Alleluia. Christ is risen." All are invited for a breakfast fitting for the feast of feasts between the two morning services.

Easter is for Fifty Days!

Always on the Second Sunday of Easter
there is an
Easter Egg Hunt for Children
following 10:15 AM Eucharist at 11:30 AM
